Привет из Норвегии!

Hello there. I just found this community by chance, while clicking random interests from my own and my friends' profiles. I'm mostly here for the football (hey - show me someone who didn't fall for the Russian team during the Euros?!) and the music (mostly the not-very-new stuff - Valeri Leont'ev and Filipp Kirkorov especially). Perhaps later, I'm going to spread the Russian biathlon love a bit, too, seeing as they have so many awesome biathletes, and most people don't even appreciate the sport, let alone the athletes.

...But for now, I thought I could bring along a fic, as my little welcome gift to you all. It's football slash, which I wrote this summer. Therefore, some of you may have read it elsewhere already, but I hope it will be new to most of you. Obviously, I also hope that you will enjoy at least a bit!

Title: Don't hate me.
Pairing: Yuri Zhirkov/Roman Pavlyuchenko. Also, implied Guus Hiddink/Roman Pavlyuchenko, and maybe Roman Pavlyuchenko/Andrey Arshavin if you look very, very closely.
Rating: PG-13, I guess?
Disclaimer: I made this up, and I don't believe that it is even remotely true. This is all fiction, right?
Summary: Roman is hurt, and Yuri tries to figure out what happened to him. The truth is perhaps more than he can handle...
Word count: 1545.

Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko admits he still doesn't understand what manager Harry Redknapp is saying to him.

Despite spending hours learning English, the 27-year-old Russian was left wishing he had paid attention to English lessons in school as it could take him up to a year to fully adapt to the Premiership.

"I thought that if I studied English really hard I would learn it in six months," said Pavlyuchenko.

"Now I see I was way too optimistic. When we played against Manchester United I had a chat with Nemanja Vidic who told me he reckoned it would take a year to fully adapt.

"'It is such a pity I had to start from zero. I absolutely regret not paying any attention in English classes at school."

The Russian striker said that the language barrier was also proving a problem off the pitch when he added: "Me and my wife miss our friends in Russia so much. In our spare time in Moscow we liked to go to the cinema or a theatre.

"In London we can't do that. We have to spend all the time at home but can't even invite team mates round for dinner."

This kind of broke my heart. :(((( Poor boy.
